As we leave the Toul Sleng Genocide Museum, we embark on a journey to the infamous Killing Fields at Choeung Ek. The site, located approximately 17 kilometers south of Phnom Penh, was the execution ground for over 17,000 Cambodian men, women, and children during the Khmer Rouge regime.

As we arrive, we’ll be greeted by a beautiful memorial stupa built to honor the souls of the victims. The stupa is adorned with the skulls of the deceased, a chilling yet poignant reminder of the atrocities that occurred on this very ground.

Our expert guide will lead us through the fields, sharing stories of the lives lost and the horrors of the Khmer Rouge regime. You’ll see firsthand the mass graves where thousands were buried, and learn about the methods used to execute innocent people.

As we journey through this solemn yet important site, we’ll have a chance to pay our respects to those who lost their lives here, and to reflect on the importance of never forgetting the past.
